Pillars Bothy

The perfect place to relax and  reset. Situated at the edge of the Forest of Falkland Gateway and just two minutes walk to the Pillars shop and cafe. With woodland paths to the  historic village of Falkland  and the wild spaces of the Lomond Hills straight from the door, there's plenty to keep you fit. Bring bikes too, if you have them. (Or you could just sit beside the fire and read...)

Inside, we have a double bedroom downstairs, and a double mattress on the mezzanine, which is accessed by a very steep stair (so maybe not for tiny wee ones)! The main living space has recently been renovated, with a new well-equipped kitchen with gas cooker, oven, fridge etc. and dining table. There is a separate walk in shower and loo. The woodstove keeps it very cosy. In 15 years we've never had anyone complain of the cold, but you do need to feed it with logs occasionally if you want hot water. After all, you do need something to do... We have no TV, washing machine or microwave, but there is wifi, a radio/CD/USB, a cupboard full of games and lots of books. We have comfy beds, with feather duvets, cotton bed linen and towels. Enhanced cleaning between guests. Logs and kindling for the stove are included, as is gas and electric.
